THE FIREFLY ARTISTS GALLERY CELEBRATES ARTISTS SUNDAY (NOV. 28, 2021, WITH A FOOD DRIVE FOR ISLAND HARVEST FOOD BANK

The season of giving continues through the holiday weekend at the Firefly Artists Gallery on Main Street in Northport.  Sunday, November 28^th has been designated as ARTISTS SUNDAY, a national campaign to encourage people to shop with local artists and buy art as gifts for the holidays.

To celebrate the day, three of the resident artist members of the Firefly will be on-site at the gallery to welcome shoppers, offering insights into their work, demonstrations, and limited-time savings on the purchase of their art.

On this Thanksgiving weekend, the three artists, Mary Ahern, Steve Caputo and Chuck Lembo, are leveraging their platform to help raise hunger awareness and collect food donations on behalf of Island Harvest Food Bank. Statewide, more than 2.4 million New Yorkers classify as food insecure, more than a quarter million here on Long Island. Visitors to the gallery are encouraged to bring canned goods or other non-perishable food items to the drop off bin that day, with a special gift given to the first 50 donors.
