While the Artists Sunday’s behind the scenes efforts began in early January 2020, it was September when we launched our national public relations campaign – an effort designed to drive consumer awareness about artists and Artists Sunday.
The campaign may have kicked off in September but it increased in intensity in the following weeks and months, culminating on Artists Sunday weekend, Nov 29th.
Media across the country covered and interviewed artists, art organizations and Artists Sunday Patrons and showcased local communities promoting artists on Artists Sunday.
Local media from Seattle and Portland in the west, to Philadelphia, Boston, and New York in the east and numerous points in between – Austin, Indianapolis, Houston, Denver, Milwaukee – and dozens more – ran stories, focusing on individual artists and art organizations in their local markets.
