America’s Holiday Art Shopping Event Returns on Sunday, December 1, 2024
Artists Sunday™ Celebrates 5 Years of Supporting Local Artists Nationwide This Weekend
Artists Sunday, the nationwide movement and shopping event designed to support local artists and craftsmen, proudly returns for its fifth year on Sunday, December 1, 2024. This annual celebration, nestled between Black Friday and Cyber Monday, encourages consumers to shop art for the holiday season, offering an opportunity to discover unique, handmade works while supporting small businesses in their communities.
Now in its fifth year, Artists Sunday has grown into the largest shopping event for art in the United States. Thousands of artists from every corner of the nation will participate, along with hundreds of local communities, galleries, and local businesses across the United States. Consumers are encouraged to experience and purchase artwork from painters, photographers, sculptors, glass blowers, jewelers, and other artisans directly or through their favorite galleries and online platforms.
A Growing Nationwide Movement
Artists Sunday was founded to bring attention to artists and local economies. In a year when community support is more important than ever, the 2024 event continues to highlight the creative contributions of artists from all disciplines.
“Art brings a unique and personal touch to gift-giving, and with Artists Sunday, shoppers can truly feel connected to the work they purchase,” said Cynthia Freese, co-founder of Artists Sunday. “This event empowers local artists, fosters economic growth, and inspires people to value the beauty that comes from creativity and craftsmanship.”
Last year’s event saw millions of shoppers visiting galleries, markets, and online shops. This year, the movement is expected to grow even further, with increased community involvement and new artist registration opportunities.
Why Shop Art This Holiday Season?
Shopping art is about more than acquiring beautiful objects. It’s about:
Supporting local economies – When consumers purchase art, they invest in their own communities by supporting independent creators and small businesses.
Giving gifts with meaning – Handmade pieces are unique, personal, and carry stories that resonate with both the giver and the receiver.
Sustaining creativity – Artists thrive on the support of their communities. Participating in Artists Sunday encourages continued creativity and cultural enrichment.
How to Get Involved
Consumers can shop directly from participating artists online or in person by checking the Artists Sunday directory or visiting local galleries.
Artists can register for free at www.ArtistsSunday.com to be listed in the national directory, gain access to promotional tools, and be part of a nationwide marketing effort.
Communities and organizations can join the movement by supporting local artists, hosting events, and promoting shopping local for art during the holiday season.
